Well-Visit Schedules
Regular well-child visits are vital for mntning a child's health, even when they're healthy.
Understanding the Check-up
All of our pediatricians strongly support American Academy of Pediatrics AAP recommations that children should have routine checkups at set intervals. The recommed schedule is detled on our website.
Insurance carriers have revised their coverage for what is covered during these check-ups or well child visits. Our billing department has received numerous inquiries from parents about charges incurred during a 'check-up' or 'well child visit' which are not included under standard well-care benefits. We m to educate families on what procedures typically cost and what might result in additional fees.
During your child's next appointment, we will:
Measure their height, weight, head circumference deping on age, calculate Body Mass Index BMI for children aged 3 years or older.
Review the vaccine schedule and recomm any vaccinations needed while discussing them with you and your child.
Conduct an examination of eyes, ears, nose, and throat.
Listen to their breathing and heart sounds.
Assess abdomen and lymph nodes.
Examine skin for abnormalities like moles.
Check genitalia and puberty development in adolescents.
Evaluate muscle strength.
Provide age-appropriate guidance on safety issues.
Advise about nutrition suitable for the child's age group.
Discuss developmental milestones with you based on their age.
Inquire about academic performance and social interactions at school.
Address concerns related to family dynamics or any worries they may have.
Educate teens regarding potential drug use, alcohol consumption.
Some more complex issues like chronic headaches, stomach pns of long duration, psychological challenges, or extensive medical conditions might require additional appointments due to time constrnts. We will ask you to schedule a separate visit for these concerns when we can provide comprehensive care without compromising on quality.
