Introduction:
The intricate journey of prenatal health is marked by numerous physiological adjustments that cater to the demands of fetal development. One vital aspect involves understanding the biochemical milieu, particularly bile acid profiles, within healthy pregnant women across various stages of pregnancy. Study Objectives:
Our primary objective is to observe and analyze the fluctuations in bile acid profiles among healthy pregnant women throughout their third trimester, focusing specifically on two critical time points - mid-pregnancy T2 and late-pregnancy T3. The overarching m is to establish a robust reference range for these biomarkers within a hospital setting.
Methods:
The study was conducted between July 2019 and August 2020 at Zhejiang Provincial Maternity Child Health Hospital, involving a cohort of healthy pregnant women carrying singleton fetuses. A total of 298 participants were enrolled in this investigation. Early morning fasting venous blood samples were meticulously collected post overnight fasting for each subject during their mid- and late-pregnancy phases.
Data Collection:
To ensure the accuracy and reliability of findings, meticulous data collection was carried out by trned medical personnel adhering to strict standardized protocols. Blood samples were preserved under suitable conditions to prevent degradation before subsequent analysis at a certified laboratory.
Results Interpretation:
The statistical analyses revealed that there are notable shifts in bile acid profiles as pregnancy progresses from mid to late stages. Notably, some bile acids demonstrated higher concentrations during the latter part of pregnancy compared to their baseline levels observed during mid-pregnancy. This finding underscores the dynamic nature of maternal physiology and highlights potential implications for prenatal health management.
